Database Key is an innovative key for plant identification, envisionsed by Thomas J. Elpel, author of Botany in a Day: The Patterns Method of Plant Identification. The database was programmed by Brandon Moncrief and illustrated by Bonnie Andrich Aakers, both formerly interns at Green University® LLC.

Do you have a mystery plant? Click the “Identify a Plant” button above, and fill out as many features as you can about your sample on each of the pages to follow. If you are uncertain about a feature, leave the field blank. Blank fields will return more accurate results than wrong fields. On the last page, click “Submit” to search the database for possible matches.
